About The Photos
These images span a pretty long period of time and a variety of photographic equipment. All of the photographs from Europe, for example, were shot on a Yashica T4 Super, a tiny point-and-shoot 35mm camera that has an amazingly sharp Zeiss lens and was 150 bucks. I love that camera, but I've become too lazy for 35mm anymore, so my current setup is a big honking Canon EOS 10D. The problem with this camera is that it's big and honking. But it does make nice photographs and it's a joy to use.
These images are free for personal use. Use them as your desktop background, or print them out and put them on the fridge. I hope you enjoy them.
For commercial use, please contact me. I have licensed my work for use in advertisements, magazines, and on television. I can provide high-resolution scans of many of the images you see here.
Want a print? I sell professional prints, framed or unframed, of any photograph in the galleries. The prints are made from the original media. If you're interested, please let me know.
Photography FAQ
What's the best online resource for an amatuer photographer? photo.net is a good photography community. Many of the folks on here are both professional photographers and very helpful. The site has equipment reviews, techniques, and message boards. And lots of photographs.
What digital camera should I buy? I recommend looking at Digital Photo Review and specifically at whatever Canon has recently released. I guess I'm a Canon fan. I've owned a Canon SLR, a Canon digital SLR, and a tiny Canon digital camera, and they've all been fanstastic. The Digital ELPH series is the perfect pocket camera. Its beautiful, sharp pictures belie the tiny lens. I'm not going to name a particular model because there's a new one every few months, but I've always liked the rectangular, cigarette-pack-sized ELPHs.
Where should I buy it? B&H Photo & Video is where I buy all of my equipment. They deal straight, they always have the best price, and they're blindingly fast.
