Espana part one!

It’s been a cold couple of weeks globe trotting (or mainly UK trotting) but I have come to rest for a few days in sunny Valencia, Sp. This is a charming city of friendly folks and delicious tapas! I will post a tapas photo essay soon. I have to charge up my camera, then I can take some good pics, but for now, above is a typical spanish apartment courtyard. I enjoy listening to the awnings flapping in the wind. It’s an almost nautical sound. The beach is a few miles to the east, but having just arrived yesterday, have not had a chance to visit yet. Leslie arrived today! She was so excited to get here after 27 hrs of travel that she promptly fell asleep! Josh’s apartment is under seige by various laborers. when we arrived our first task was to build the beds we were to sleep on. The kitchen is being remodeled, the bathrooms as well. The sound of hammering and drilling is a constant. It’s amazing when you are really tired, these things don’t really bother you. Anyhow, more soon, I need to go describe the way the water pours out of the washing machine to a spanish plummer. Wish me luck.

  1. Hi Daniel,

Sounds like Spain is treating you well. Hope the plumber situation worked out OK. Life isn’t nearly that exciting in Chicago.
