Suprised Leslie with a christmas pup! We are both delighted and Leslie christened her “Pasha”, which means “Turkish, high-ranking, military official”. We realize it is kind of a masculine name, but she doesn’t care, and I always liked that anyway. Dad reminded me there was an ancestral “Roodle” way back in the family named Pasha, so it’s kind of a family name, so to speak. She is whip smart, very loving, very playful and all the things a pup should be. Her leash training is coming along, so is the house-breaking, with a few snags here and there with regards to each. She went to Gillian Welch and David Rawlings X-mas party, where she rubbed noses with Nashvilles best and brightest, and sat on Emmylou Harris’ lap.
Emmylou said: “She looks like Bonaparte”; which was her old poodle-mix. All and all, I’m thrilled, but it definitely makes me want to stay closer to home, or to go places where they allow dogs because she hates to be left alone.

Winter and Tomato
So it’s officially winter and that means it’s time for a tomato hootenanny. One will be taking place this coming monday at The Basement We will be having a bonfire and maybe some
grateful dead songs will be performed. Tomato Hootenannys are kind of hippy-ish, but I have a fondness for them in spite of this. I got a nod from a music critic in New York Magagzine Thanks for the shout-out Barrett! Let’s see…what else…the bees have a mastering date set for our new record, High Society. My brother carl is working on the artwork. We were number 4 on the top selling albums (SGP) of the week last week at Laser’s Edge . This week we have slipped to number 14, but that’s very flattering. Thanks Laser’s Edge. I’m listening to Feist alot. I love it. Also read Tom Petty’s book “Conversations with Tom Petty”. Now i’m completely smitten with my mom’s new puppy, Sula. I feel the magnetic pull to get a dog is very strong. Lots of Love,
Daniel
