Had an interesting meeting with Kyle Lehning. He said he wanted to do more gigs with his B3 band, he said they would even play at a “manhole dedication”! He was helpful at evaluating some songs, and he seemed to like one of the songs I brought him. Then I came home and watched some VH1, and K.T. Tunstall is getting some airplay, and that’s good because I like her. There’s a lot of bands out right now. I don’t think a lot of them are very good. Then I went to the library just in time to see Brad Jones speeding off on his motorbike. His scarf was blowing in the wind behind him, he looked so debonair. Then I was supposed to get together with Mindy Smith and write and so I called her but she said she was in a bad mood because she had just quit smoking and she really associated writing with smoking and I know how that goes. She said she was just playing her PSP alot and trying not to think about it. She said “please don’t be mad at me”, but I wasn’t at all. Then Brad Jones called and he said he was playing with the Autumn Defense tonight at the Basement and that I should come because they really were doing some great 3-part harmonies. I told him I wanted him to teach me some Jamerson bass riffs and he said sure! That’s my new thing: Ask people to teach me things.
