Walked early with Leslie and it was still cool. Watered the front and back beds and showered. I called Natalie to see if we were still writing and she said she was glad I called, because she had a lot to do before she went out of town, so we were both relieved because we both had things to do. Had a voice lesson and worked on a few songs. Went to lunch at Chinatown with my grandmother. Walked the dogs at noon and it was hot. Went to Harris Teeter ($21) and got the ingredients for Risotto with asparagus and mushrooms. Also made salad with paprika vinagrette. Called Mel and Vicki but they said they’ll have to “take a rain check”. “We have leftovers WE have to eat, too, ya know!” As if I was planning to serve him leftovers. But the Risotto turned out good, and Leslie says I live “like a retired person.” Just trying out recipes and playing the piano. Oh well.
