I wasn’t feeling bad when I first woke up, then about an hour later I felt really bad and I had to lay down all day and watch the “Project Runway” marathon. It’s a good show. I really like the marathon, because you can really get into a groove with the show. Then Angelo called and said did I want to come over and help him do some recording, and of course I did, so I took a shower and felt a little better and went over there and met the Webb Sisters, Charley and Hattie. Hattie played the harp and Charley played guitar and they sang together and were really damn good. They had written several songs with Angelo and we recorded demos of them. It was a long and fun day, and we had Pizza, and finished about midnight, and I was really looking forward to getting some sleep, unhindered by alcohol.

Melissa called and said could we rehearse at 5. I gave Posh a bath, and went to Jason’s studio and we worked on this Venus Hum/ Bees Christmas song. Jason said I was singing it too much like Nat King Cole, but then again, that’s not easy to do. But I think we got some good vocals, and I played some ukulele, which was fun. Took Posh to my mom’s and she gave her a haircut and she’s such a patient and good-natured dog. Then I left her there and went to rehearse with Melissa. Jonathan Trebing was there and Hags and it was good to see those guys. I was playing my dad’s epiphone and it sounded good. Went to the Family Wash and The Gypsy Hombres were playing and Jerry Flowers showed up. Warren Pash came too, and he said something bad was going on in the alley, and John and I went to go look and didn’t find anything. Then we played and I met Stew Kimball, and his family is from Massachussets. We were speculating about whether we could be related. He looked cool and had a pencil-thin mustache, so we had something in common. The gig went well, I thought, then I went to the Mercy Lounge to see David Mead and the cover was 12 dollars, and I saw about 6 songs, and they sounded good. Then I talked to Bill Demain, and Helen, and he said she calls him “Suede”. I played a little pool and I was kind of buzzed, so I played better. But I started to get woozy so I had get out of there so I went home, but at the last second I decided to check in at the basement, and I saw Jennifer Nicely and talked to her for a second, then went home. I took some Advil and went to sleep and woke up in the middle of the night and drank a gallon of water, at least.

At the risk of sounding decadent, I spent another whole day watching “Forensic Files”, and I was going to videotape it, but I couldn’t tear myself away long enought to get video tapes, so I just watched it all day again. There were some really creepy ones on. I can’t understand how humans can murder each other, but I guess that’s why i’m fascinated by it. There’s something about murderers that I fundamentally can’t wrap my head around. But then I saw on Arts and Letters that murder isn’t unique to humans. Animals appearantly murder each other.

They were advertising it yesterday, so I was prepared, and I got up and went to Kroger and got some Honey Nut Cheerios and milk and settled in for the all day Thanksgiving “Forensic Feast”. I watched about 7 episodes and had about 14 bowls of cereal then I took a shower. Then I went to Hopkins for Thanksgiving and I couldn’t think of anything to talk about during dinner because all I could think about was “Forensic Files” and that doesn’t make good dinner conversation with your grandparents. But after dinner I got my dad to watch some of it with me and I got him hooked and we watched about 4 of them together. I love thankgiving and stuffing. Went home with some leftovers for Leslie but I ate them.

So now i’m hooked with a capital H on “Forensic Files”, and I watched about 4 episodes, and a lot of “cops”. I haven’t watched this much TV in a long time and I suppose i’m somewhat exhausted. I slept for about 8 hours at night and 4 in the day. Feeling a little better.

Still felt under the weather so I spent most of the day watching movies and went to international market.

Still felt like crap, but I took a shower and went to take the bass amp back to corner, then went to Blockbuster and I got “Hard Candy” and “Edmond” the newest David Mamet movie. Nobody goes to Blockbuster anymore. Everybody does Netflix. Then I called an order in to Chinatown and picked that up and went home and slept and watched movies all day. I was supposed to do this Venus Hum/ Bees collaboration, but my vocals would have been laughable. Took Posh over to Hopkins to play and the clouds came over and it was cold! Had a cup of tea and a german cookie and went home. Then John Deaderick called and told me Michael Richards flipped out. Melissa Mathes came by and we watched David Letterman and it was some strange television. It had that feeling of serious permanance that most TV doesn’t have. David was funny, after Michael apologized, David Letterman said “Well, we might as well go home”. But Jerry Seinfeld seems like a good guy. I felt that the apology was genuine, and, you know, being a comedian is an edgy thing to do, you are always (I would think) walking that line between acceptable and unacceptable and sometimes taboo language is funny and sometimes it isn’t, and I think he just went into emergency mode because he felt the audience slipping out of his control and wanted to reel them back in with something shocking, and he just miscalculated and it was too late. Wow. Talk about self-destruction on stage. Man. Melissa and I went to YouTube and watched it and it was just sad. Oh well. Everybody deserves a chance to apologize and make ammends.

Woke up with a cold, and decided to just stay put. Made some soup and put the football game on. The Titans were actually doing pretty good for once. I was just lounging around and feeling sorry for myself, and Grimey called and said he was glad because he needed to cancel our lunch anyway. Watched “The Break Up” with Jennifer Anniston and Vince Vaughn. It was pretty good. I made some chilli and Grimey came over and we watched the Cowboys and The Colts play. Grimey was going to see the Raconteurs. I went to bed early.
