Damn, I wish I'd caught that SNL making fun of the Secret. Although, I'm like you I believe in the Secret, have the book, video, thank its great, think its right, somehow, maybe not directly, but somehow we create everything that's around us, the life we live.
But it's like in the early 90's when I got into this thing called "Self-Talk" It really helped me then, thought it was great, made sense, and then Al Franken on SNL sort of made fun of the concept with his Stuart Smalley character. Then, I stopped doing it.
Recently, I started listening to the tapes again like in the morning and night while showering, brushing teeth, etc., and I realized "Hey I like this in its own right. It's fun saying positive things about myself. I don't have to constantly monitor if its actually changing my life on the outside world to just have fun doing it."
Kind of a different attitude towards it. Kind of like just enjoying an episode of Seinfeld or something. So I don't mind if SNL makes fun of the Secret and such. But man, when Bill Maher tore into it one time it really soured me on his political program, but I can still enjoy his comedy.
