The Weblog of Daniel Tashian

Went to Chicago to play with Leigh Nash. We had fun. We kind of got drunk on the plane, then we went to the hotel and it was basically the most attractive and comfortable hotel i’ve ever stayed in: The James. Well, maybe close second to the Essex House in New York.  Had lunch in the restaurant, then took a walk on Michigan Ave. and Chicago is really a lovely city in the winter. Beautiful snow and trees with white lights. We sound-checked and then drank numerous glasses of champagne while waiting to play. The show was at the offices of a company called “Verve Life” and it was a nice group of people. I met one guy who worked with the folk singer Steve Goodman. Back to the Hotel and John Deaderick and Steve Keller met me in the lobby and we went out for pizza and a few drinks. I could only eat one slice and I was full. We had fun but I was so tired and I was anxious to get back to my fantastic room. Slept sideways on the bed.
