Tuesday December 4 2007

We were going to work with Donovan again, but I guess he had another write until the evening, so I mainly spent the day catching up on office work. Did an hour of publishing with my dad. Shopping, birthday gift for K-Karl. Listened to this song “Mama You Sweet” by Lucinda Williams and immediately started crying. God she’s great. It was one of the CDs Kim gave me. I listened to the song probably 50 times in a row, it’s so good. I think it’s about her burying her mom. Morbid and fantastic. Cover photo by Annie Leibovitz. Beautiful palate. Went to a laundarymat to play the song for C. (which I thought was sort of a chivalrous thing to do) but she seemed, well…less than ecstatic. She’s coquettish and shy, but is it all smoke and mirrors? Maybe I bore her. But how could that be? It doesn’t seem possible. She said she would come to the Silver Seas show, but I forgot about K-Karl’s dinner and party so I had to cancel. Worked with Donovan and Jason and we got some music but no lyric, which was okay…Took Donovan back to his hotel. Home about 11.
