Worked on the new Silver Seas music a bit. I don’t know. Sometimes I can’t tell if something’s any good. Like David Bowie in that movie where he plays Andy Warhol and they’re looking at a painting. Sometimes taking things away is a good thing. Other times, it gets boring. To International Market for some soup and read the cover article on Justin Earle in the Nashville Scene. All about his drug past and he seems like a cool guy. I just wonder about talking about that stuff. I mean, the main thing about the article was sort of saying how much drugs he took and where and with whom, etc. It was a bit of sensationalism, only in the sense that very little analysis was devoted to the music itself. Welcome to show business! I’ve taken drugs, and though I wouldn’t recommend them, I also wouldn’t use them as a “story” about a record, because ultimately, I think kids think it’s sort of cool that you went to the dark side, and came back alive.

Evening to Ombi and drank Rose and took one drag from a cigarette and felt light-headed and Tommy Keenum and Liz came and we had fun talking. Home at 11 and hit the s.

Wednesday March 26 2008

Walked the long walk with Roger and my dad, and he reminded me I needed to fix the strap on the Epiphone case. To Athens for a Guilty Pleasures meeting, and it looks like i’m singing “Freeze Frame”, which is kind of exciting. Ran into Peter Wolf a couple weeks ago and he gave me a bottle of bourbon. Sorry i’ve been so lax about the b. Listened to Tracey Ullman on Terry Gross last night. Worth a listen for sure. She’s a great hero. Worked for a while today on “What’s the Drawback” and Troy put a CD of the Ukulele record on the porch.  I will post a mix from that tomorrow. It could be a pretty exciting record, my only question is, are my vocals exciting enough? Been an eventful couple of months….don’t know where to begin, so I guess I’ll pick up w.i.l.o. -Reading Ekhart Tolle “A New Earth” - Recommended. New S.S. sessions next month. Spent some time editing today. Jason doesn’t think we have the songs, so now I’m the convincer, which, as time has shown, i’m adept at. Anyway, i’m back, and i’ve missed you guys.
